Why bulls hate red ??

Bullfighting is a famous sport and many people lose their lives to these bulls.Everyone of us use to get goosebumps while watching bullfighting or crossing close to any bull and especially when we are wearing something red.
From decades it is considered dangerous to take anything red in front of bull. As it is considered that bulls hate red and they get aggressive by watching red color. But why is so ??

 Why bulls hate red ??


To know this let us firstly know about red color. Red color have highest wavelength among all other colors. Since red is the color of blood, it has historically been associated with sacrifice, danger and courage. Modern surveys in Europe and the United States show red is also the color most commonly associated with heat, activity, passion, sexuality, anger, love and joy. In China, India and many other Asian countries it is the color of symbolizing happiness and good fortune.

So is high wavelength of red color and its significance with blood the reason for bulls anger ?? 

The answer to it is no.Actually, bulls are color blind to red color.They cant see red color properly.Still don't believe it ?? The television show "Mythbusters" tested live bulls on color versus movement in three seperate experiments.First, they put three stationary flags, which were red, blue and white, in the bull's enclosure.The bull charged all three flags regardless of color. Next,they put three dummies dressed in red, blue and white in the ring, and again the bull charged all three without discrimination.
Finally, they put a person dressed in red in the ring with bull.That person stood still while two other cowboys(not in red) moved around the ring. The bull went after the moving boy and left he motionless red person alone. Their test revealed that bulls only became interested and aggressive when something is moving around.


So why do they use red color ??

The red caps and color are considered an important part of culture and tradition of bullfighting.
There is also a practical reason for using red as red color helps to cover the sight of blood.
