At the end of Rainbow ??
One of the most beautiful and eye catching beauty of nature occurring in atmosphere is Rainbow, which occurs mostly during rain or after it.
In Norse region, the rainbow bridge called the bifrost which connects earth with heaven which can only used by gods and warriors who lost their lives in battle.
In ancient beliefs of japan, rainbow was considered as bridge that was used by ancestors to descent the planet.
But what really rainbow is ?? How its made ??
Rainbow is a natural phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets present in sky.Rainbows are full circles. However ,the observer mostly sees only an arc above the ground. But why rainbows are curved but not straight ?? This is because there are a collection of suspended droplets in air that are capable of concentrating the dispersed light at angle of 40-42 degree relative to original path of light.
Everyone at different places can have different view of the same rainbow.
Types of rainbow:
- Primary rainbow:In Primary rainbow, the arc shows red on outer part and violet on inner side.
- Secondary rainbow:In secondary rainbow,a second arc is seen outside the primary arc,and has colours reversed as in primary rainbow, with red on inner side and violet on outer side. This is caused by light being reflected twice on inside of droplet before leaving it.
- Multi pal rainbow
- Twinned rainbow
- Full-circle rainbow
- Supernumerary rainbow
- Reflected rainbow,reflection rainbow
- Monochrome rainbow
- High-order rainbow
- Rainbows under moonlight
- Fogbow rainbow
- Circumhorizontal and circumzenithal arcs
- Rainbow on titan
- Rainbow with different materials
As i told above rainbows are full circles and its not possible to find an end of circle.Hence rainbows don't have an end.As they start in sky and ends within them.
And how long does rainbow stays in sky??Answer to this is as long as water droplets stay in sky.On an average rainbow can stay up to 6-8 minutes. On Nov 30,2017(Thursday),rainbow stayed for record-breaking 8 hours and 58 minutes over northern Taiwan.
So enjoy this natures beauty and don't try to find gold at ends...
